All Hail the Queens! We just put up a great selection of new Queen designs on the One-of-a-Kind page including a few made up of Mavis Smith head and dress beads like the one shown above. Mavis is an incredible glass artist and a master at the making of murrine. The little faces are made using this technique and I'm amazed at the expressions she is able to give them in glass. Kimmie of Just K also made a glass dress which you have to see to believe! It looks so much like candy, I almost ate it...talk about "Off with their heads". Don't worry, there are also a few of the very popular porcelain head and dress Queen designs by Joan Miller. By order of the Queens...they are not to be missed! We had a great time at our show this past weekend in Sonoma, CA.
It was a beautiful setting and although a little hot at times, the weather was absolutely
perfect. We even got to stop by our friend Paula Best's house for a visit with her llamas which
she captured in photos for her blog. People
came by our booth with lots of enthusiam for the new Queen, Witch and Jester doll designs.
Speaking of which, Joan Miller just added a number of
these pieces to her website so be sure and check it out!
We have also added some dolls and a few other designs to the One-of-a-Kind Gallery here on my site. There is also a special new piece
on the Halloween page. We're launching a few exciting new designs

A few announcements...we have started an initiative to entice our visitors to vote for us on the Top 25 beads list! Vote for my site and send me an email stating that you did so and you will be entered in a drawing for the indicated item. The contest begins anew each Tuesday. See the section at the upper left of this page for details. Not to be too greedy, but just so you know...there is no law against your voting for my site everyday!
The coming of Spring brings back all our friends from the garden including one of my favorites...the graceful Dragonfly! To welcome their arrival we have several Dragonfly Necklace sets available complete with a chain now on the One-of-a-Kind page. We even decided to run an eBay auction with one of these designs!
Apologies to David Bowie on the title of this little announcement. Well, where to begin...I guess I will start chronologically, as in which new thing did we do first! Can you say, "eBay..."? We are now running a few auctions with some very One-of-a-kind pieces including a Witch, Mermaid and a collectable Joan Miller bead. Joan's bead auction, a lovely Blonde Mermaid started last week, has drawn a good deal of interest but there is still plenty of time to plan your last minute snipe bid! Afterall...this is THE bead used in Joan's ad for the Bead & Button Show program.
With the coming of Spring, we thought a fresh new look to the website was in order. We are always trying to make the site easier to navigate and hope the menu on the left is a helpful improvement. One thing led to another and now the site looks quite different. We're by no means finished so please keep an eye on us while we add a few more features including...new fun findings pages, daily specials, eBay listings and a fully stocked one-of-a-kind page. Thanks to all who visited us at the Del Mar Harvest Festival this past weekend. We had lots of fun with the introduction of several new Halloween designs. We barely have time to catch our breath though with the San Diego Bead Society Show coming this Saturday and Sunday at the Scottish Rite Temple near Hotel Circle (10a-5p)! I was very impressed with the vendor list for this show so please trust me when I tell you it will be worth your while! Included in this list will be my sister-in-law Kimmie of JustK with a display in my booth full of her fun and unique bead styles. We will again be spotlighting our fun Halloween designs many of which are now available on the specials page.

Hi Everyone...We had a great time in Santa Monica this weekend and want to thank everyone who came by to pet the Bead Critters and see all my designs live and in person. It is such a great feeling when visitors are so excited and complimentary about our products. Their faces really lit up while they browsed the Critters, Teapots and jewelry made with my line of whimsical findings. We constantly hear folks new to my products saying, "Look a Bunny, a Kitty, a Hippo, and oh my, a Teapot!!!" and so on as they move around the booth.

Dan only just realized the error and it is now up and running again. It's not only a great way to find what your after, but also really a great way to browse the website. The Frog head bead is brand new from Joan and WOW are they ever CUTE! We knew the combination with a Crown bead cap would be all too fun and the result has been really well received. The Queens combine Joan's lady head beads with the Crown bead cap, a Heavenly Body finding and a pair of shoes! If you choose to check them out, you'll enjoy a selection of different beads with a variety of color combinations. Enjoy... Lots of critters and findings will be on display so be sure to stop by if you are in the area! Also, Penny's Scrapbook Jewelry designs will be on display in the Everafter Scrapbook booth at the Convention this weekend in the San Diego Concourse. Alas, if you will be nowhere near either of these locations this weekend, the website is open 24/7! 
Butterfly Bead Spinner Hi everyone! We had a great time in Milwaukee at the Bead and Button Show this year. The only disappointing aspect, as usual, was lacking enough time to go out and see all the great new beads and products from my fellow vendors. Of course, it's hard to complain because I would rather be busy than have tons of time on my hands! This was my hubby Dan's first trip to work a bead show with me and he was pretty overwhelmed by the experience. It's a lot of work and a lot to see, but he is anxious to join me again at a show real soon! Dan's sister, Kimmie (of JustK lampwork beads) was there to help with my sales and to sell her own beads. She definitely is developing a fan base (myself included) for her unique and fun designs. Thanks to everyone who came by the booth to visit the Bead Critters and see my latest designs. It's so fun to watch the many hard core bead shoppers at these shows approach the booth and instantly develop a big smile and sometimes a chuckle when they see my displays of finished pieces. We like to think of the Penny Michelle booth as an escape to whimsy in the midst of serious bead shopping. Be sure to drop by the next time we're in your town! As you can see, this design works very similar to a Bead Charmer in that it can serve as a pendant on its own or be strung into a larger necklace or bracelet piece. It also works perfectly with the popular new lentil-shaped bead style. For examples of finished pieces, that you may just have to have, see the One of a Kind page. Hello Friends! As promised, here is my latest design...The Butterfly Bead Wrap! Bead Wraps are my new findings that wrap around the curve of your beads attaching to the top and bottom bead holes with a simple wire wrap or by stringing. This finding is my favorite one yet with several butterflies fluttering around your bead. The butterfly wings are incredibly detailed with various images of love and nature. Be sure to take a closer look on the Findings page. The first Bead Wrap styles have enjoyed great initial success and I'm sure this new design will also. Shown above, they include Bead Wraps, the Beading Heart and Flora the Mouse Bead Critter. Bead Wraps are my latest creation for adorning lampwork beads with sterling silver. These Fun Findings curve around the contour of a bead with a whimsical design. So far, we have ocean-themed Bead Wraps including the Mermaid and the Shark, but look for some garden designs and more coming soon! The Beading Heart is specifically for Seed Beaders and serves as a template for stringing an assortment of beads into your own custom design. I started my own, as shown, and could not put it down...it was so FUN!!! Flora the mouse is the latest addition to the Bead Critter line and is already making quite a splash. She is quite detailed, wearing a tweed hat and coat with a flower in her hand and in her hat. Penny suggested that we include a couple more images on the back side in a faded out greyscale. The result is a lot more interesting than our typical text-only info card side. We have started floating the jewlery images over a single background and although it's a bit of a pain to isolate the images, the effect against this glowing purple made it all worth while. Joan liked the card very much and asked us to order a lot of them!
